A Summer Day With Dad Home

Today we enjoyed a summer morning in the yard together. The kids rode thier bikes, and played with the yard stuff. This afternoon we took them to the river to cool off and have some fun together.

Ethan has also become a pro at riding his two wheeler now!

The kids really enjoyed being at the river! Even "princess" Madeline decided to get in the water! Sammie didn't go for it though...oh well.

Just a Day at Home

Today we spent most of the day at home for a change. Summer finds us busy and on the go more than I like. We took the time to catch up on chores and do some schoolwork. ( We school pretty much year round.) Maddie got a gift in the mail today from Honey Grandma and she spent the evening showing them off!

Summer storms

So, we tend to get a few of those summer evening thunder storms around here. Often they are nothing more than dark clouds and noise that pass us rather quickly and move on thier merry way. Our latest one brought us this though.

Thankfully it was not enough to damage anything. In fact, the kids rather enjoyed it. Maddie and Andrew wanted to know if they could go play with the "snowballs".

Potty training marathon

Due to Andrews sensory issues he was quite late to potty train, but is nearly there, finally! Just when I thought it was time for a break... Maddie has decided to train herself. Here she is sporting her new "big girl panties". She is 2 1/2, so we are going with it, seeing as how she is not going to have it any other way anyways. Only 1 in diapers will be really nice though I must say!

Way to go Mark!

For those of you who have not heard the news, Mark wrote first on his Master Chief test in the C.G!!! This means an extension of atleast one year for him as he waits to find out if he advances. The children and myself will be joining him in California off and on for the next year in our (soon to be) brand new travel trailer for some family time together. This is to ease the seperations we have been enduring for the last year. Retirement will come eventually, but not this year afterall. We wait to see what God has in store for us next.

Guests???

We have recently been visited by these four legged critters. We have not figured out exactly what kind of sheep they are yet. We are not sure where they belong or why they like our place so much, but it has been fun watching them and looking up sheep breeds.

A day with the cousins

While Melissa is recovering from her delivery and blood pressure issues we have been helping out with the care of the kiddos. We are together every Wednesday and Friday for the day. Today we shared a day in the park followed by lunch and pool time at our house. I think they all enjoyed it.

Annual 4th of July Family Fun Celebration

We had a great time hosting our annual 4th party on our property again this year! We had a great turn out with 25 children in attendance and 24 adults. We had good food, provided by all; and enjoyed games, fellowship, and lots of fireworks together. It was a blast!!!(HA HA HA)
