Yesterday I had my 20 week exam. The Dr. confirmed that the ultrasound looked good. Luke's heart rate was in the high 150's and he is sitting high right now. Which is why I am measuring a bit ahead, but nothing out of the ordinary. Blood pressure, weight, urine were all perfect. We are alteast half way there now. It's nice to be able to eat healthier without feeling sick. I don't feel quite so wiped out from the time I wake up anymore either, which is also nice. This is the Trimester that I do/ feel the best in, guess I will enjoy it while I can. Also, I feel Luke moving often now. I may have even felt him have the hiccups for the first time this morning.( Couldn't quite tell for sure yet.) I love feeling the baby move, nothing quite like it!Next appointment set for the 24th week.

Construction plans???
Some of you may not know that we are trying to put a good size addition onto our existing house here. Things are finally rolling along..at a not real fast pace, but rolling. We have our plans now. We also have a couple contractors working up bids on the job for us right now. I never realized how much went in to even just this phase. We seem to have strangers showing up to measure this and check out that every other day or so. It is exciting to see anything happening though. The addition will give us 3 more bedrooms... a much welcomed addition to our current 2. Main floor bathrooms, a slightly extended kitchen and a new entryway. Also it provides a basement apartment for my parents to live in. We would covet your prayers as we move forward with this project. I will do my best to keep the blog updated as we go.

18 week Ultrasound
Yesterday was the big day! We had our big ultrasound done. The baby cooperated quite well for the first half of it, allowing the tech to quickly document the kidneys, stomach, diaphram, take measurements etc.... Everything looks great, so that was good news. However, baby is breech right now (normal at this stage) facing my back with legs crossed and the cord blocking the other parts in question. She did manage to get things moved enough to discover that we are expecting little Luke Alan Jensen in September. It's a BOY! The tech had quite a time getting baby to look at the "camera" as well to document facial features. After some rearanging myself and a switch in techs they were able to get the face and the 4 chambers of the heart documented as well. Luke looks wonderful, and is measuring right where he should be. Praise God for his goodness to us! It is such a relief to have this behind us with no problems suspected at this time! I will try to see if I can get some ultrasound pics copied over to here soon.

Easter 2009
We had a busy but wonderful day. We enjoyed a breakfast at church and services. We then had a bunch of family up for fun and food, rejoicing in what God has done for us! Here are a few pictures from our day. I will try to post a whole family photo soon.

16 week check-up
I had my 16 week appointment yesterday and everything looked good. The baby is growing like crazy. He/She was quite active avoiding the doppler for a few minutes before we could get the heartrate, which was 160 this time. We have set the date for the big ultrasound, it is on the 16th. Mark gets to be here and be a part of it this time, Yay! We are still working on the name thing. Have not quite settled on a girl name yet, but who knows, maybe we wont have a need to worry about it. My nausea is starting to fade now....so thankful for that! The backache is picking up a bit in the evenings, but I knew it was coming. Overall I am starting to have a bit more energy and able to go back to trying to eat healthy, rather than trying to eat what will stay down. I met my new O.B. yesterday as well. My midwife decided to retire 2 months too soon, but she deserves the break, even though I will miss her. She has told me she will be at my delivery if she is in town....cool! Dr. Garnass was pleasant and seems very profesional, yet friendly. I think we will get along fine. He was good with my decisions to decline certain testing, and that made a good impression with me. Have not always had that reaction with O.B.'s. Also he did not make the usual negative comments associated with our family size that I am used to getting. That was nice. So stay tuned for the big news in a couple of weeks.... what will the newest little Jensen be? Boy or Girl....what do you think?
